be the mom – Tracey Eyster

be the mom: overcome attitude traps and enjoy your kids

The title pretty much says it all. Tracey Eyester writes from experience. She is a mom who’s been there. In her book be the mom Tracey helps fellow moms see the common traps they may be, or get, caught in and how to get out of them. There are 7 traps that she identifies in the book: “Just a Mom”, “Me Mom”, “Martyr Mom”, “Busy Mom”, “Mirror Mom”, “Tomorrow Mom”, and “They Say Mom”. Ultimately, the biggest challenge presented is to change yourself by changing your attitude. Your goal as a mom is to teach your kids lovingly so that they will be ready for their adult lives. She reminds moms that they aren’t “just a mom”. Moms are given the next generation of people to raise up, and that’s HUGE!

Being a mom, I was greatly encouraged by this book. I don’t know how many times I’ve found myself in some of the mom traps, with a bad attitude. When your 5 yr old comes in to tell you, with tears in their eyes, that they’re sorry they make you mad all the time, you know you’re stuck in a mom trap and need to get out. What great timing for me to read this book. It is exactly what I needed to hear in this season of my life and I’m sure I’m not the only one who needs to hear it! In fact, there is a great opportunity coming up on August 10th for those who would like to “hear” Tracey!

August 9th at 9 pm Central Time, Tracey is having a virtual Facebook party from the MOPS Convention! To get in on the party action, Like Be The Mom on FB and during party time, hop on over and chat via comments. Ask questions, answer questions, interact with other moms, even if it is just online!
