God Gave Us You – Lisa Tawn Bergren

God Gave Us You by Lisa Tawn Bergren tells the story of how Mama and Papa Polar Bear got Baby Polar Bear. It’s bedtime and Baby asks Mama the ever popular question “Where did I come from?”. Mama, in all her wisdom, tells Baby that her and Papa were lonely so God decided that they were going to have Baby. With beautiful illustrations, we get to follow Mama through her retelling of the feelings she and Papa felt while they were waiting for Baby.

It says it’s for children 0 – 3 on the back but our 4 yr old loved it (so don’t go by the ages on the back, it’s great for any age)! Even our 8 month old say and looked at the pictures while I read it. The pictures are beautiful and the story is perfect. Being a mom I really related to Mama’s recounting of their excitement and joy throughout the gestation process.  This is going to become a bedtime book for many years, I can already tell.

Our book that we got for review is a board book, which is great with three kids (one of whom loves to eat everything).  It would fit perfectly in a diaper bag or as part of a baby shower gift.
